THUNDERBOLTS AND LIGHTNING VERY VERY FRIGHTENINGGGGGGGGG. a small glimpse of one of my new favs.

"We'll change punk rock. For better? ehh, Maybe."

bolt.
Im now in love with this band. it was a growing love. it starting with singer/guitarist joel messaging random things and periodically callin me hoe. i ignored his rambunction and periodically spat back. Told him I wouldnt be his band friend until he took down that horrendous pic of an evil tyrant. The evil tyrant then disappeared. He said my old band was good but we looked nervous just standing there. I told him I needed a beer. He proceeded to hail kirkwood dillinger. i proceeded to hail the necronauts. liberal squid records was formed and proceeded to hail bolt & seemed to appreciate my random strange sounds. During this time they " would wommmmmmanize, they would drink, they would make outrageous claims, like they invented the question mark. Sometimes they would even accuse chestnuts of being lazy. A sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament." I of course continued to procrastinate evolving my own hidden genius (yeaa right haha ;) by tinkering with recording on cakewalk mixing in old tape cassette sounds...hidden, yet hopeful my hermiting would soon disperse.... carnival bandit was born. Still in progress... still raw and innocent waiting to embark and break into a beautiful montage of riot "playable live"fizz. Because of this newly conception, i cannot yet have the privelage to play amongst great local RAWcore edgers....there is still a lot of work to be done...less talk & more walk. the seed has been planted, now it needs time to sprout....and its the sounds of my fave local undergrounders in which inspire and excite such sprouting. so i thank thee. As for liberal squid, we can expect a continuous love for punk rawk and the gathering of such sounds on various compilations, festivals, shows, and an upcoming interview concuncted by I for Raw Indie Zine 5. On july 25th the l-squid kids put together a festival, ArizonaWasteland, in which is being held in tucson at the Dry River venue, an all day event starting 12pm-1130pm. Bolt is scheduled to appear (see bolts page for times) along with various other punk influenced acts. Some of Bolts influences include flipper, teenage jesus and the jerks, the stooges, sonic youth, meat puppets, the germs, etc just to name a few..Their random flux of pedal usage, vocal spats, drum clanks, and fuzzed induced strums electrocute and persecute(such experimental hard edge not for everyone); and yet theyve only just begun & are still in the beginning stage with room to grow....fuck that....thats not what punk rawk is. pick up an instrument and go. who cares about growth. its all about here i am now.from start to finish. take it or leave it.and here they are now casting their lightning spell! just a lil thunderBOLT in the desert. no raindrops here. just acid filled lemondrops falling on your heads. sweetened intensity.*listen to silence (sweet) & final wave (intense)* exactly what ones musical tastebuds needs... to quench that thirst for something more than that daily dose of bland "mainstream" monotony.

sound: a heavy dose of early era punk meets no wave noise teetering on the fence of grunge underground. wrapped up experimental kisses. more like a messy make out session. ha.
